We offer bed and breakfast-style accommodation in beautiful stone and thatch cottages, situated amongst lovely flower gardens. The main building of Aloes is a classic Colonial-style sandstone house, dating back to the 19th century, which has been converted into a restaurant and solarium where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinners ranging from braais and pub fare to very special African-Indian fusion and traditional Basotho meals.
Aloes Guest House overlooks the Drakensberg if you prefer epic mountains rising to over 2,850 metres. The gardens at Aloes are perfect for picnicking and swimming in the pool and the spacious and impeccably manicured grounds offer a wonderful setting for weddings, parties, barbecues, staff parties, family gatherings, and conferences.
We aim to offer a range of activities for visitors to Lesotho and the region is famous for its natural splendour. Hikers, mountain bikers, quad riders, and horseback riders will find many peaks and valleys to explore. There is also a rich cultural history in the region and activities include guided tours and treks to an ancient San cave decorated with rock art, village visits to traditional African rondavels, performances by local choirs, and dance troupes.

★★★★★ We stayed at Aloes Guest House for one night on our trip to Bokong Nature Reserve. The gutes house is easy to find with several signs leading the way from the main road. The rooms are very basic with an acient TV, however they do have air con. The guest house offers dinner and breakfast. When we stayed they had a small buffet for dinner with Pap, wors, cabbage, bean salad and some steak. They char... Read more

★★★★★ We arrived at the Aloes Guest House on Wednesday August 8 from 3pm to 4pm and the least we can say is that the welcome was not warm. The people at the front desk ate and we felt like bothering them. The receptionist greeted us coldly, at the limit of rudeness and showed us our accommodation without speaking to us practically. The accommodation itself was clean and it was probably its only asset... Read more

★★★★★ I made a booking through Afrinow with Aloes Guest House and a quotation was provided which I confirmed and made down payment. On arrival at the establishment I was informed I was provided a wrong quote. I settled the original quotation and refused to pay any additional costs after being given given a R600 discounted which I thought was a ridiculous gesture. When my family and I (including 6 young... ★★★★★ We overnighted in Pitseng on our way back to SA. There was confusion over our fully paid booking and Aloes sent us a 'fully booked' message the day before arrival. Self-catering unit was very clean but basic with no personality. If you stay during the weekend expect it to be very noisy!
