Activities and Things to do in and around Amohela ho Spitskop.
This is the perfect place to take a deep breath and slow down the hectic pace of life. With walking trails laid out on the 420 acre retreat, climbs into the stunning little mountain, a bird list of some 250 species, small mammals, amazing stars at night, indeed a very special place. Locally there are day drives of much beauty, small and quaint villages to visit, good eateries, in the village a golf course where visitors are welcome and plains game wander the greens, San rock art, luminosity of light attracting both painters and photographers, cycling on the property or locally on safe scenic country roads. Each year in March there is a well-run mountain cycle race over four days, combined with a cultural and vintage tractor show. In the areas around Ficksburg and Clocolan it is Cherry Country, and Ficksburg hosts the oldest crop festival in South Africa, The Cherry Festival, in November each year. With the proximity to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, a visit to Afriski Ski Resort and the Sky Restaurant, where you drive through mountain passes and valleys of exquisite beauty, passports are required to enter Lesotho.
