“Die Blokhuis” was built in 1901 and housed 30 soldiers to protect the steel train bridge during the Anglo Boer War. It is a National Monument. “Die Blokhuis” next to the N1. Geelbeksbrug is a working Olive and Sheep farm. It is owned by Aubrey and Debbie Jack. Their son, Dane, joined them full time to help with the day-to-day running of the Farm. Guests can enjoy awesome Star Gazing. Some other activities include Bird Watching (37 Species have been ringed).
★★★★★ I did not sleep there but left and found alternative accommodation through Lekkeslaap. The room was most disappointing. Not even a 1 plate cooker to prepare food. Very small. Crappy shower. Found stunning accommodation for only R200 more but 1000% better.

★★★★★ I really enjoyed my overnight stay at the Blokhuis Farm. It is authentic Klein Karroo charm, without the bling, bells and buttons. The lady farmer is welcoming , generous and helpful. Her animals, piggies (and piglets), sheep, goats, chooks and hounds are a delight. Lovely to walk around the hills in the evening and do spectacular star gazing at night.
